MEDIEVAL EUROPE What do you know about Medieval Europe? When we talk about Medieval Europe, we are talking about the period of time known as the Middle Ages, which was a time of change for many Europeans. Many people associate the Middle Ages with knights, jesters, castles, and church life. While all of these are characteristics of Medieval Europe, there was much more going on in the areas of discovery, exploration and urbanization. Feudalism and Manorialism were prominent in the Middle Ages. The complex system of landowners, workers, and other people living on a manor had a great impact on the function of society. Each manor was a community in itself, and they interacted with each other across the land. The positions of men and women in Medieval Europe were quite varied, each playing a different role in feudal society. Much of what happened in Medieval Europe is broken down into specific periods, which will be looked at later. The significance of the changes that took place during this time had a great impact on Europe as it is today. © Copyright NewPath Learning. All Rights Reserved.
