WEATHER What is Weather? When someone asks, “What is the weather today?” you know what they are asking. They are asking what it is like outside. They want to know what nature is doing in your area raining, snowing, blowing… Weather Changes Weather changes all the time. How We Measure Weather Temperature is how cold or hot something is. We measure temperature using a thermometer. Thermometers have numbers. The numbers tell us if the temperature is hot or cold. Wet Weather Plants and animals need water to live. They get the water they need when it rains. Rain falls from clouds in the sky. When the temperature gets cold, rain can turn to sleet.
