PLOT FEATURES Many genres of literature have particular plot features. Folk Tales A folk tale is a tale originating and traditional among a certain group of people that have been passed down orally from person to person. Folk tales are stories that are passed down from previous generations. Fairy Tales A fairy tale is a literary creation involving real-life problems, magical events, and imaginary characters, most often written for children. A fairy tale usually includes both a good and an evil character. They most often have a problem and a solution. Fables A fable is a short story that often involves animals or objects as characters. A fable is a short story that often teaches a moral or lesson. Myths A myth is a traditional or legendary story, often involving gods, goddesses, and heroes.
