PARTS
OF
A
BOOK
What
are
the
Parts
of
a
Book?
Books
have
special
parts
to
help
you
find
information
easily.
Every
book
has
a
title.
That
is
the
name
of
the
book.
It
is
written
on
the
cover
and
on
the
spine.
The
spine
is
the
edge
of
the
book
that
shows
when
it
is
standing
on
a
shelf.
Every
book
has
an
author.
That
is
the
name
of
the
person
who
wrote
the
book.
Some
books
have
more
than
one
author.
Many
books
have
illustrators.
Those
are
people
who
draw
the
pictures.
Every
book
has
a
publisher.
That
is
the
name
of
the
company
or
factory
that
put
the
book
together.
Every
book
has
a
title
page.
The
title
page
tells
the
name
of
the
book
and
the
author.
It
usually
tells
the
name
of
the
illustrator
and
the
publisher
too.
It
sometimes
tells
the
cities
where
the
book
was
published.
Most
books
have
a
table
of
contents.
That
is
a
list
of
all
the
chapters
or
stories
and
the
page
numbers
where
each
chapter
or
story
begins.
Many
books
have
an
index.
That
is
an
alphabetical
list
of
all
the
topics
or
subjects
you
can
find
in
that
book.
The
index
is
usually
found
in
the
back
of
the
book.
Many
books
have
a
glossary.
That
is
a
special
dictionary
that
tells
you
the
meanings
of
important
words
in
that
book.
If
there
is
a
glossary,
you
can
find
it
by
looking
in
the
table
of
contents.
Sometimes
a
book
will
have
a
dedication
page.
That
is
where
the
author
writes
the
names
of
people
who
helped
or
supported
him
or
her.
Most
books
have
a
copyright
page.
That
is
usually
after
the
title
page.
It
tells
when
and
where
the
book
was
published.
