SIMPLE SHAPES What are Shapes? Shapes are everywhere. They are at school, at home, inside, and outside. A shape is the form something takes. Some shapes can stack. One shape can roll. For shapes with sides and corners, the number of sides is equal to the number of corners. How to figure out shapes: A square is a shape with four equal sides and four corners. A square can stack. A rectangle is a shape with four sides and four corners. There are two long sides and two shorter sides. A rectangle can stack. A triangle is a shape with three sides and three corners.
