BEGINNING, MIDDLE, END Why Do We Need to Learn about Beginning, Middle and End? When you read a good story, you enjoy it if it was written well. To write well, you should follow the rules of beginning, middle, and end to make it a good story. The writing process helps you have a good beginning, middle, and end. The Writing Process 1. Prewriting and brainstorming. You need a good topic sentence in the beginning to get the reader interested in the story. The plot of the story is hinted at right in the topic sentence. You introduce the characters in the beginning to get the reader interested. To write well, you try to have the events in the order they might happen in real life. 2. First draft and revising. You add details in the middle of the story. You try to make the characters do interesting things. You try to give the characters a problem to solve. You make changes to make the story better. 3. Proofreading and final draft. A story cannot go on and on, so you must have a good way to end it. The end of the story brings all the details together. If the characters had a problem, it is solved. The end is called the conclusion. © Copyright NewPath Learning. All Rights Reserved. Permission is granted for the purchaser to print copies for non-commercial educational purposes only.
