A sentence ends with a period. A period is a dot. A sentence tells. When you say a sentence, your voice drops at the end. I washed the dishes. A question is a sentence that ends with a question mark. A question asks. When you ask a question, your voice rises at the end. Did you wash the dishes? When a sentence starts with a question word, it will end with a question mark. The question words are red. Question Who has the book? When does the show start? What is Jack doing? Where are my boots? Why is the vase cracked? How will we get to school? Jane has the book. The show starts at 1:00 p.m. Jack is feeding the cat. Your boots are in the closet. Deb dropped the vase. We will ride the bus to school.
